Hi, this is Einars Odinecs. I'm a multidisciplinary designer with a software engineering background focused on web application product design. I'm currently looking for Product Design opportunities!
Below are some projects I've worked on. If you have any questions or just want to say hello, the best way to reach me is via email. Here are some more places you can find me on the internet: LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram.
I worked on the data team, designing and developing a number of critical analytics applications.
Koi Wallet is my concept and design case study for an iOS bitcoin wallet. It was inspired by my desire to learn more about bitcoin.
I wanted to design something simple and familiar. The result was a list view highlighting the attractive movie poster art and a detail view focused on the video player along with some basic information about the movie.
The shape of the logo was inspired by old movie countdowns and the yellow, orange, red colors by the light from a projector.
Built using Next.js. Hosted as a static site on Amazon AWS S3. Video content hosted on S3 using Cloudfront CDN for better load times.
Build a command line interface for YouTube that allows a group of people to synchronously create and watch video playlists. Why? I was interested in the limitations of CLIs and how they could be used alongside chat (like in IRC or Slack), and inspired by the now defunct Turntable.fm.
I also wanted to experiment with a social application that was pseudo anonymous and did not require a login flow.
Everything from the slowly scrolling neon text to the limitations of the CLI was to inspire a cryptic cyberpunk aesthetic. More art project than good user experience, but anyone who remembers having fun on IRC should quickly feel at home.
Node.js (express/websockets) back end with in memory data store, React.js front end with homemade flux-like data management architecture and Webpack for the build.
